Chipping Paint and Yoga

Merry-go-rounds are pieces of artwork, although, it seems that they are not considered in that light. Too caught up in the getting to the next destination , the endless rotating blur, to notice the delicately painted structures working harmoniously together to create a complete journey. To be quite honest, I never enjoyed being on a merry go round. Perhaps, given the rounds of my life, going in circles simply seems absurd. Like it or not, now is yet another time to reflect and change direction.
Each horse on that carousel is a unique creature, many striving to simply be in a world full of incredible stories and sagas. It is a journey the full journey that defines, every step of the way. I’ve developed into who I am, life has taken shape within me – those mountains that appeared insurmountable once , turned out to less daunting than they originally seemed. I’m am no longer afraid to be that horse with chipped paint and scratched-up sides anymore. I continue this journey refining and designing my inner landscape. This is who I am within the confines of this human life.
Like a merry-go-round, we’re attracted to the repetition, that constant safety of a circle that brings you right back where you started, without fail. It’s consistent, and that’s comforting. But real success happens outside of the comfort zone, at that moment I step off the ride and venture into something new and adventurous. That moment of deep inner listening, the choice is there to step off the endless circular ride.
